Lounge:
After a refreshing shower at the British Airways Gatwick lounge, I headed down to the boarding gate for the quick hop to the Dalmatia.
Boarding:
Intra-European business class is generally pretty terrible.
Since I booked last minute, I couldn’t get a bulkhead seat. The legroom here was simply torture😭.
Thankfully, I had the whole row to myself, which helped me stretch out a bit. The cabin was cleaner than the cabins in the US, with the exception of some crumbs on the floor.
The bathroom was also much cleaner than those on American airlines and stayed clean till the end of the flight. There were toiletries from the White Company - British Airways’ standard offering.
Inflight:
We had an on-time departure out of Gatwick. I appreciated that BA had WiFi on its narrowbody jets, especially with pricing this attractive…
Breakfast wasn’t served until an hour into the flight. The crew were lovely, though. BA staffed two flight attendants for business class. In the States, it’s just one flight attendant for an entire narrowbody first class cabin.
The options for breakfast were some fruit tart and of course, the full English brekkie. I pigged out and had the latter, as it’s almost always reliable on BA. And I really rarely eat English breakfast, well, really any breakfast when I’m not flying, lol.
Drinks were served alongside the meal. I asked for sparkling water and champagne (I love carbonation, what can I say), which was the Pannier Brut. It was quite good. There was a father and son duo sitting in the row in front of me, and the father ordered champagne as well. The son (with English accent) went “Champagne? With breakfast?”, and both the flight attendant and I were cracking up.
Soon we started our descent into King’s Landing, and the Adriatic coastline came into view.
On Arrival:
We pulled into a remote stand next to the United B767 from Newark. Other than the lack of legroom, it was a rather pleasant flight. We hit some moderate chops on our descent, and the flight attendant offered to pour my champagne into a plastic cup for me. From here, I got picked up by our driver from the Regent Porto Montenegro and headed across the border.
